February favorites

February flew by so fast with all of the fashion week chaos and here we are at the end of the month with another favorites post. I love to recap my most used items in each category every month because it makes me realize which products I really love and which buys were not so necessary after all. How about you? Let me know in the comments below some of your favorite products!

I've been in Guadeloupe for the most part of the month so my fashion faves are going to be beach essentials! Bikinis to be exact! These three are my current favorites and it's no surprise: I'm such a sucker for anything pink and sparkly, white and lacey and super colorful.

Hat: H&M (old) - Sunglasses: Ray Ban Clubmaster - White lace bikini: Target - Pink sequins bikini: Victoria's Secret (old) - Colorful bikini: Target.

Having a candle as a beauty favorite may appear bizarre but just hear me out: these Lemon West candles are made of 100% pure soy wax and essential oils and they have become my guilty pleasure when it comes to moisturizing. Every time I hop in a bath I light one and not only they make the whole bathroom smell divine but when I get out I use the melted wax as lotion on my legs and arms. They are also vegan, toxin free and against animal testing! It really doesn't get much better than these!

Candles: Lemon West - Monogram mug: Anthropologie - Lipsticks: YSL Rouge Volupté - Lipstick organizer: Marshalls - Macaron trinkets: Urban Outfitters

It wouldn't be a favorites post without my most used lipsticks of the month. Living in the Caribbean I don't end up using that much makeup and only go for a bold lip and a little eyeliner most of the time. So I really have my fun when it come to switching up the colors and textures of my lip products. This month was literally all over the place with matte nudes and creamy corals and satin purples.

Pale pink lipstick: Giambattista Valli x MAC - Purple lipstick: Milani cosmetics 34 Violet Volt - Burgundy lipstick: YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats - NYX SMLC16 in Cairo - NARS Velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella - YSL Rouge Volupté 27

Life in the Caribbean is all about color! These were some of my most used accessories this month: every time I go out for a drink or to the restaurant with some friends I love to keep my outfit simple and monochromatic and simply add statement shoes and a killer bag!

Bicolor clutch: Céline - Flamingo heels: Sophia Webster - Pink Tumbler: Starbucks - Orange pumps: Dolce & Gabbana - Color block wedges: Giuseppe Zanotti - Orange mini crossbody bag: Céline trio small - Pink tote: Céline mini luggage - Pink and yellow pumps: B by Brian Atwood - Blue tote: Prada.

My fave purchase of the month were these white Nike Roshe. I am not a sneakers kind of girl but I've been wanting these for almost a year now so I decided to finally buy them and thank god I did! They're super comfy of course and make me feel super stylish while working out, which makes me want to work out even more! Apparently these are all the motivation I needed to work out regularly! :D

I just can't hide my excitement when it come to room decor. This month I switched up some of the prints on my gallery wall and rearranged the shelves in my room. I am thinking about adding some floating shelves on the wall next to my bed to create some additional organizing space. Maybe room tour coming up? :D

Shoes: Givenchy - Candle: Diptyque - Prints: Chicfetti

How to create the perfect wishlist

Every season or so I like to think about what I would like to add to my wardrobe and jewelry collection. I analyze trends and with a little help from polyvore I create wishlist sets that keep me focused while shopping. I am a huge fan of shopping of course and I am the first person that impulse-shops and gets distracted by deals seemingly too good to pass and I sometimes end up buying items that I wasn't really lusting over, that just keep me away from my wishlist goals.

Instead, when I create these wishlists I can always be reminded of all the beautiful things I really want and can focus all my energy to acquiring those.
These are also great to pass on to friends and family so that you are assured you will receive things you like for your birthday or during the holidays!
Of course I never expect to be able to buy every single item on my wishlist, but I still enjoy simply creating these sets and lusting over them!

This is the last wishlist I created, back in the spring.

So today I wanted to share with you all a few tips on how to create the perfect wishlist:
- First of organize your wishes into categories: make up, beauty, home decor, clothing, jewelry, shoes, etc. so you won't forget anything important;
- For every category try to think about maximum 5 items that you really would want to acquire soon. Study current trends and narrow down your list to items you researched and know they will be good for you. I think it's extremely important to include less expensive but equally cute little items to your wishlist set so that people won't be forced to only buy extremely expensive gifts;
- Third go on www.polyvore.com and create an account (if you don't have one already!) and start creating your set.
- I like to start my set by the title (you can call it "birthday wishlist" or "fall wishlist" or anything else you'd like!) and then I add some cute little drawings (a heart there, a star here, anything that can make the picture look a little cuter);
- After that it's time to start adding your items! Polyvore has a Fashion and a Home tab where you can navigate into specific tabs ("beauty", "jewelry", "tops", "skirts", "makeup", etc.) or directly search for specific things by typing in the brand and the category;
- I think it's very important to add a description of each item next to it if you are going to screenshot your wishlist set and send it out to people because not everyone is as familiar to your wishlist as you are! But you could also just send people the link of your published set on the Polyvore website where every item is interactive and you can see the price and all the info just by hovering over it with your mouse.

I have been using this wishlist methodology for a couple of years now and I must say that I am very happy with it because it helps me maintain my focus and motivates me to work for what i want!

And now a few shots of items that I actually was able to get my hands on!

The soft and furry rug from IKEA and these adorable owl and macaron lip balms from Forever 21, just the kind of knick knacks I love!

These beautiful Chanel coffee table books that go so well with my DIY Press for Chanel frame! (tutorial here)

The gorgeous Kate Spade 2016 planner, the NARS lip pencils and another one of my obsessions, cute jewelry dishes!

How about you? what is on your wishlist right now?

July favorites

My first July favorite is the month of July itself! The summer is in full swing; you get to see beautiful fireworks on the 4th and it's my birthday month! It can't get much better than that, right? Well, I actually came across all these other goodies that I'm about to share with you that did make it even better! Let's jump right into it!

Packaging is everything, especially when it comes to everyday necessities that you always carry around with you. These Forever 21 macarons and owl lip balms are too cute for words! They are very hydrating and each color has a different scent, all of which are absolutely delicious!

These are the lip products that have been on rotation this month. The NYX Intense butter glosses are AMAZING! And the SLmissglam brushes are seriously the prettiest and softest brushes ever!

I just got these quirky and fabulous Sophia Webster Flamingo shoes on sale and OMG I am addicted you guys. I wore them a couple of times already and people always freak out over them and ask me if they can take pictures of them. I am so excited to wear them for fashion week in September too!

These gorgeous gold pieces of jewelry came with my Rocksbox and I could not stop wearing them all month long! I love layering dainty pieces and stacking them on my wrist, but I also love a good old statement necklace to pull together an outfit. If you guys would like to try Rocksbox out for FREE for a whole month just type in the code "sarahgallxoxo" at checkout! ;)

Here are some of my favorite gifts I got for my birthday! Kate Spade Polka Dot planner, Polaroid camera and Jonathan Adler Zebra jewelry dish (this one was on my wishlist forever!).

I finally changed the frame of this gorgeous illustration of myself from the uber talented Eleni from Fall into London and I'm obsessed with it! It's so fun and colorful, just perfect for summer!
